I was born and raised in California. My Father was a Jewish Man and Mom was from a Lutheran background. I was not raised particularly religious, if I had been it would have made no real difference as God is not found in a religion but in a personal relationship with Him.   At the age of 18, I enlisted in the U.S. Navy. Soon after, I began seeking direction for my life. I asked the question: "What is the purpose of my life?"  I reflected and thought: "I've tried everything but God, but how does someone try God?"  It was at that moment that I looked up and said in a prayer: "God, if you are there, I would like to know you!" Shortly after that prayer, I received a pamphlet entitled: "God's Simple Plan of Salvation." The brochure came from Gateway Free Will Baptist Church in Virginia Beach, Virginia. I was stationed there at that time, The following Sunday, I decided to visit the church. I was so glad that I went because I heard how I could come to know God personally. In September 1986, at the age of 19, I invited the Lord Jesus Christ into my heart, and He has been with me ever since. You can get to know Him, too, if you will open up your heart and receive Him as your personal Lord and Savior.
